Import Manifest Regulations Amended: New Passenger Details Required, Submit Electronically Within 15 Minutes Post-Departure per Customs Act, 1962.
The Central Board of Excise and Customs has amended the Import Manifest (Aircraft) Regulations, 1976, effective from August 30, 2005. The changes include updates to Form II, the Passenger Manifest, which now requires additional details such as passport and PNR information. The passenger manifest must be submitted within fifteen minutes after flight departure and closure, preferably transmitted electronically to Indian Customs. If electronic submission is not feasible, alternative methods acceptable to the Commissioner of Customs may be used, following prescribed conditions. These amendments are authorized under the Customs Act, 1962.
