of <h1>Customs Notification Amended: Pulses Imported in Bulk Exempt from Duty Starting April 2007 Under New Entry 11A.</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 21/2002-Customs, dated 1st March 2002, through Notification No. 57/2006-Customs, effective from 8th June 2006. Under the powers granted by the Customs Act, 1962, these amendments are deemed necessary for public interest. The changes include the insertion of a new clause in the preamble and the addition of a new entry, 11A, in the notification's table. This entry specifies that pulses imported through customs ports capable of handling bulk imports will be exempt from customs duty starting from 1st April 2007.
