of <h1>Amendment to Customs Exemption Notification: 5% Duty on Specified Newsprint Dimensions Under Customs Act, 1962.</h1> Notification No. 55/2006-Customs, dated 6th June 2006, amends the earlier exemption notification No. 21/2002-Customs, dated 1st March 2002. The amendment involves changes to the table under Serial No. 154, which now specifies the exemption criteria for newsprint. Newsprint in strips or rolls with a width not less than 34.92 cm, or in rectangular sheets with one side not less than 34.92 cm and the other side exceeding 15 cm, will be subject to a 5% duty, with the exemption of other duties. This amendment is made under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962.
