of <h1>Government Extends DEPB Scheme Validity to March 31, 2006 via Customs Act, 1962 Amendment for Public Interest</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, has amended Notification No. 89/2005-Customs to extend the validity of the Duty Entitlement Pass Book (DEPB) scheme. Initially set to expire on December 31, 2005, the DEPB scheme will now remain in effect until March 31, 2006. This extension is deemed necessary in the public interest. The amendment is formalized through Notification No. 104/2005-Customs, dated December 26, 2005, issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue.
