of <h1>Government of India Updates Foreign Exchange Rates for Imports Effective June 1, 2004, Under Customs Act, 1962</h1> Notification No. 71/2004 - Customs (N.T.) issued on 26th May 2004 by the Government of India under the Customs Act, 1962, sets the exchange rates for converting foreign currencies into Indian rupees for imported goods, effective from 1st June 2004. It supersedes the previous notification No. 55/2004-NT-Customs. The specified rates include, among others, 31.85 INR for the Australian Dollar, 45.45 INR for the US Dollar, and 40.25 INR for 100 Japanese Yen. These rates are detailed in Schedules I and II of the notification.
