of <h1>Customs Duties Amended: 5% Duty on Specific Iron & Steel Items; Some Set to Nil per Customs Act, 1962</h1> The Central Government has amended the customs duties on iron and steel under the Customs Act, 1962, effective from August 20, 2004. The amendments modify the previous notification from March 1, 2002. Specifically, the duty for items listed under S.No 190A and 190B is changed to 5%, while the duty for S.No 200 is set to nil. Additionally, S.No 355 is revised to apply a 5% duty on all goods classified under code 8908 00 00. These changes are made in the public interest by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue.
