of <h1>Central Government Raises Excise Duty on Specified Goods from 4% to 5% Under Notification No. 10/2011-Central Excise</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 10/2006-Central Excise to increase the effective rate of duty on specified goods from 4% to 5%. Additionally, several entries, specifically S.No. 5, 7, 10, 11, 13, 14, 16, 24, and 31, along with their related details, have been omitted from the notification. These changes are enacted under the authority of the Central Excise Act, 1944, and are deemed necessary in the public interest. The amendments were officially documented in Notification No. 10/2011-Central Excise, dated March 1, 2011.
