of <h1>India Updates Preferential Trade Rules: Adds Lao PDR to ASEAN Origin List Under Customs Tariff Act, 1975</h1> The Government of India has amended the rules regarding the determination of the origin of goods under the Preferential Trade Agreement between ASEAN member states and India. This amendment, effective from February 2, 2011, adds Lao PDR to the list of countries in Annexure IV of the original 2009 rules. These changes are part of ongoing updates to the Customs Tariff rules, which were initially established in December 2009 and have been amended multiple times since. The amendment is issued under the authority of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975.
