of <h1>PPF Amendment 2010: Close HUF Accounts Opened Before May 13, 2005, After 15 Years; Refund Process Outlined.</h1> The Public Provident Fund (Amendment) Scheme, 2010 mandates the closure of accounts opened by Hindu Undivided Families (HUF) before May 13, 2005, after fifteen years from the end of the year of initial subscription. The entire credited amount will be refunded, with adjustments for any interest due on loans. Accounts where the fifteen-year period has already ended must be closed by March 31, 2011, with similar refund procedures. This amendment, effective upon publication in the Official Gazette, modifies the existing Public Provident Fund Scheme, 1968.
