<h1>India Revises Customs Duty Exemptions: New Rates for Specified Goods Until March 31, 2011, Under Notification 128/2010.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 128/2010-Customs, amending Notification No. 21/2002-Customs. This amendment, effective from December 22, 2010, introduces changes to the customs duty exemptions for specified goods under Chapter 1 to 99. Specifically, it adds a clause for goods listed under serial number 491B, applicable until March 31, 2011. The notification also inserts new entries in the Table, detailing duty rates for certain goods, including a 7.5% rate for up to 40,000 metric tonnes and a 20% or Rs. 20 per kg rate for all goods, whichever is lower.
