of <h1>India Amends Customs Notification to Exempt Raw Cotton and Cotton Waste from Export Duty Effective October 1, 2010.</h1> The Government of India has issued Notification No. 105/2010-Customs, amending Notification No. 100/89-Customs dated March 1, 1989. This amendment, effective from October 1, 2010, adds specific goods to the list exempted from export duty under the Customs Act, 1962. The newly included items are raw cotton and cotton waste of all sorts, listed under Serial Nos. 15A and 15B in the notification's table. This amendment is made in the public interest and follows a previous amendment made on April 9, 2010, under Notification No. 43/2010-Customs.
