of <h1>India exempts customs duties on relief equipment for Ladakh, valid until Sept 30, 2011. Certification required.</h1> The Government of India issued a notification exempting relief equipment imported by a foundation and donated to the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council from customs duties. This exemption applies to goods under the First Schedule of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, provided they are intended for relief operations in Ladakh. Conditions include certification by the importer that the goods are for donation without charge and submission of a certificate from the Council's Chief Executive Officer within six months of importation. The notification is valid until September 30, 2011.
