of <h1>CBDT Amends Notification on Educational Institutions: Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Hyderabad - III Now Prescribed Authority</h1> The Central Board of Direct Taxes has amended Notification No. S.O. 852(E), dated May 30, 2007, concerning universities or other educational institutions. This amendment, issued as Notification No. 53/2010 on July 14, 2010, pertains to sub-clauses (vi) and (via) of clause (23C) of section 10 of the Income-tax Act, 1961. It specifies that for cases under the jurisdiction of the Director of Income Tax (Exemption) in Hyderabad, the prescribed authority will now be the Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Hyderabad - III.
