Chennai Customs Commissioner Appointed as Common Adjudicating Authority for Kolkata Import Cases per Notification No. 65/2010-Customs (N.T.)
The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has appointed the Commissioner or Additional Commissioner of Customs (Sea Port-Import) in Chennai as the Common Adjudicating Authority. This appointment allows them to exercise powers and duties on behalf of the Joint Commissioner or Additional Commissioner of Customs (Sea Port-Import) in Kolkata. The purpose is to adjudicate matters related to a Show Cause Notice issued to a company and others by the Directorate General of Revenue Intelligence, Chennai. This action is in accordance with the Customs Act, 1962, and is documented in Notification No. 65/2010-Customs (N.T.).
