<h1>India Amends CENVAT Credit Rules: New Clause Allows Credit for Goods Supplied to Diplomatic Missions</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 27/2010-Central Excise (N.T.) to amend the CENVAT Credit Rules, 2004. This amendment, effective upon publication in the Official Gazette, introduces a new clause in Rule 6, sub-rule (6), allowing CENVAT credit for goods supplied to foreign diplomatic missions, consular missions, career consular offices, or diplomatic agents as per the provisions of Notification No. 6/2006-Central Excise dated March 1, 2006. This amendment follows the previous amendment made by Notification No. 26/2010-Central Excise (N.T.) dated June 29, 2010.
