of <h1>CBDT Amends Income-tax Rules: Updates Rule 12 Year References and Replaces Forms ITR-1, ITR-V Effective April 1, 2010.</h1> The Central Board of Direct Taxes, under the Ministry of Finance, issued Notification No. 29/2010, amending the Income-tax Rules, 1962, effective from April 1, 2010. The amendments involve updates to Rule 12, where the year references in sub-rules (1) and (5) are changed from 2009 to 2010 and from 2008 to 2009, respectively. Additionally, the amendment replaces Forms ITR-1 and ITR-V in Appendix-II with new versions. These changes are made under the authority granted by Section 295 of the Income-tax Act, 1961.
