of <h1>Central Government Amends SEZ Regulations; Effective Date Changed to January 1, 2004, Under Section 126 of Finance Act 2002.</h1> The Central Government has amended a previous notification regarding Special Economic Zone (SEZ) regulations and exemptions. The amendment changes the effective date from '1st day of December, 2003' to '1st day of January, 2004.' This modification is made under the powers granted by section 126 of the Finance Act, 2002. The original notification, No. 43/2003-CUSTOMS (N.T), was issued on 22nd July 2003 and has been previously amended. This update is formalized by the Under Secretary to the Government of India.
