India Amends Customs Notification: New Clauses for Aircraft Import by Airports Authority for Flight Calibration, Repair, and Maintenance.
The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance, has issued Notification No. 9/2010-Customs, amending Notification No. 21/2002-Customs. The amendment introduces new clauses under conditions 103A and 105. For condition 103A, clause (d) specifies that aircraft imported by the Airports Authority of India for flight calibration must be used solely for that purpose, with a commitment to pay duty if not adhered to, and prohibits sale or transfer. Condition 105 now includes clause (iia), allowing aircraft importation for servicing, repair, or maintenance related to flight calibration purposes by the Airports Authority of India.
