of <h1>Retiring Government Employees Can Now Use Affidavit for Deposits Under Rs. 5 Lakhs; Form I Updated</h1> Amendments have been made to the Deposit Scheme for Retiring Government Employees, 1989, as per Notification No. 0745(E) dated 10-08-1989. The changes include a provision allowing retirees with deposits not exceeding Rs. 5 lakhs to submit an affidavit on stamped paper indicating the amount of retirement benefits received, instead of a certificate from their employer. Additionally, Form I has been updated to reflect this option, with instructions to delete non-applicable sections. These amendments are effective from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.
