India and Australia Pact to Prevent Double Taxation on International Air Transport Profits, Effective April 1, 1975.
The Governments of India and Australia have established an agreement to prevent double taxation on income from international air transport. This agreement, effective from April 1, 1975, exempts profits derived by enterprises of either country from operating aircraft in international traffic from being taxed in the other country. It also covers profits from joint operations and interest on funds related to aircraft operations. The agreement will remain in effect indefinitely, with provisions for termination through diplomatic notice after June 30, 1986. The agreement was signed on May 31, 1983, in Canberra, with both Hindi and English texts being equally authentic.
