<h1>India Appoints Mumbai Customs Commissioner as Adjudicating Authority for Multi-City Revenue Intelligence Case under Customs Act Sections 4 & 5.</h1> The Government of India, through the Ministry of Finance's Department of Revenue, issued Notification No. 162/2009-Customs (N.T.) on October 30, 2009. This notification appoints the Commissioner of Customs (Adjudication) in Mumbai as the common adjudicating authority. This authority will exercise powers and discharge duties for the Commissioners of Customs in Mumbai, Chennai, and Amritsar. The purpose is to adjudicate matters related to a Show Cause Notice issued to a company in Ludhiana by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence. The appointment is made under the Customs Act, 1962, sections 4 and 5.
