of <h1>India Forms Approval Committee for Falta SEZ Under SEZ Act 2005, Chaired by Development Commissioner, Includes Key Officials</h1> The Government of India has established an Approval Committee for the Falta Special Economic Zone under the Special Economic Zones Act, 2005. The committee is chaired by the Development Commissioner of the Falta SEZ and includes members from various government departments. These members are the Director or Deputy Secretary from the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Zonal Joint Director General of Foreign Trade in Kolkata, the Commissioner of Customs at Kolkata Airport, the Commissioner of Income-Tax with jurisdiction over the SEZ, the Director of Banking from the Ministry of Finance, and two officers from the Government of West Bengal. In the Development Commissioner's absence, a Joint Development Commissioner will represent them.
