<h1>Central Govt Expands Aluminum SEZ in Jharsuguda, Orissa by 35.55 Hectares for Vedanta Aluminium Ltd</h1> The Central Government has approved the establishment of a sector-specific Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for the manufacture and export of aluminum, along with a 1215 MW captive power plant, in Bhurkamunda, Brundmal, and Kurebaga Villages, Jharsuguda District, Orissa. Initially approved on May 23, 2007, for 242.81 hectares, the SEZ was notified for 166.91 hectares on February 27, 2009. M/s. Vedanta Aluminium Limited proposed including an additional 35.55 hectares, which the government has now officially notified. The notification details specific plots and areas within Kurebaga and Brundamal Villages to be included in the SEZ.
