<h1>Import of Castor Oil and Derivatives Now Classified as 'Free' Under ITC (HS) 1997-2002 Amendments</h1> Notification No. 26/1997, dated December 10, 1997, amends the ITC (HS) Classifications of Export and Import items for 1997-2002 under the Foreign Trade Policy. The Central Government, exercising its powers under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992, has declared that the import of castor oil and its fractions, hydrogenated castor oil (opal wax), and dehydrated castor oil, whether of edible grade or otherwise, is now classified as 'Free' under the specified EXIM codes. These amendments are issued in the public interest.
