<h1>Amendment to Export & Import Policy 1997: Licensing Required for Sandalwood, Exceptions for Handicrafts, Oil, and Specific Forms</h1> Notification No. 08/1997, dated 14-07-1997, issued by the Director General of Foreign Trade, amends the Export & Import Policy of 1997-2002 under the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992. The amendment in Chapter 16, Part I, Paragraph 16.1, modifies the entry concerning sandalwood export. Sandalwood in any form is subject to licensing except for finished handicraft products, machine-finished products, sandalwood oil, and specific forms outlined in Schedule 2 Appendix 1 of the ITC (HS) Classifications. The conditions and procedures for these exceptions will be detailed in public notices by the Director General of Foreign Trade.
