of <h1>Government Updates Customs Tariff Rates to 85% for Goods in Chapters 78 and 79 under Section 25(1)</h1> The Central Government, under Section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, has amended a previous notification (No. 44/83-Customs) from March 1, 1983, to update the customs tariff rates for specified goods under Chapters 78 and 79. The revised notification (No. 36/86-Cus, dated February 7, 1986) sets an ad valorem rate of 85% for various sub-headings and headings within these chapters, which pertain to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. This amendment is deemed necessary in the public interest.
