of <h1>Govt Exempts Certain Plant Imports from Customs Duty Over 60% Ad Valorem per Notification No. 42/86-Cus</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, has issued Notification No. 42/86-Cus dated February 17, 1986, to exempt plants and parts of plants used primarily in pharmacy or for insecticidal, fungicidal, or similar purposes from a portion of the customs duty. These items fall under Heading No. 12.11 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. The exemption applies to the amount of duty exceeding 60% ad valorem. This notification will take effect on February 28, 1986.
