of <h1>Govt exempts silk-worm gut from 100% customs duty under Section 25(1) of Customs Act; effective Feb 28, 1986.</h1> The Central Government, under Section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, has issued Notification No. 56/86-Cus dated February 17, 1986, to exempt certain goods from customs duties in public interest. The goods specified under sub-heading No. 5006.00 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, include silk-worm gut, which is subject to a 100% ad valorem duty, and other goods which are subject to a 50% ad valorem duty plus Rs. 8.50 per kilogram. This exemption takes effect on February 28, 1986.
