<h1>Government Exempts Certain Base Metals from Customs Duties Over 40% per Notification No. 64/86-Cus, Effective February 28, 1986.</h1> The Central Government, under the powers of the Customs Act, 1962, has issued Notification No. 64/86-Cus dated February 17, 1986, to exempt certain base metals from customs duties exceeding 40% ad valorem. The metals listed include unalloyed unwrought tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum, cobalt, bismuth, cadmium, titanium, zirconium, antimony, manganese, and several others such as chromium, germanium, and vanadium. These exemptions apply to imports into India as specified in the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, and will take effect from February 28, 1986.
