of <h1>India Exempts Rock Drilling Bits from Customs Duty Over 40% Ad Valorem Under Notification No. 65/86-Cus</h1> The Central Government of India has issued Notification No. 65/86-Cus, dated February 17, 1986, under the Customs Act, 1962. This notification exempts rock drilling bits, classified under sub-heading numbers 8207.11 or 8207.12 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, from a portion of the customs duty. The exemption applies to the amount exceeding 40 percent ad valorem of the duty specified in the First Schedule. This exemption is deemed necessary in the public interest and will take effect on February 28, 1986.
