<h1>India Exempts Select Dry Fruits from Customs Duty Exceeding 100% Standard and 90% Preferential Rates Under Section 25(1)</h1> Notification No. 74/86-Cus., dated February 17, 1986, issued under section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, exempts certain dry fruits, excluding raisins, dates, almonds, pistachio nuts, and betel nuts, from customs duty when imported into India. These goods, classified under Chapter 8 of the First Schedule to the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, are exempted from the portion of duty exceeding 100% ad valorem for the standard rate and 90% ad valorem for the preferential rate. This exemption is effective from February 28, 1986.
