of <h1>India Cuts Customs Duty on Medical Cameras to 40% Under Section 25(1) of Customs Act 1962</h1> The Central Government of India, under the authority of Section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, has issued Notification No. 117/86-Cus dated February 17, 1986. This notification exempts Odelea Cameras and Fundus Cameras, used for medical and surgical purposes and classified under Chapter 90 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, from certain customs duties. Specifically, it reduces the customs duty to 40% ad valorem and waives the additional duty specified under Section 3 of the Customs Tariff Act. This exemption will be effective from February 28, 1986.
