of <h1>India Exempts Zinc Concentrates from Customs Duty Exceeding 15% Under Notification No. 148/86-Cus, Promoting Public Interest</h1> The Central Government of India, under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, has issued Notification No. 148/86-Cus dated March 1, 1986, to exempt zinc concentrates, classified under Chapter 26 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, from a portion of the customs duty. Specifically, when imported into India, these zinc concentrates are exempt from any customs duty exceeding 15 percent ad valorem, as specified in the First Schedule of the Customs Tariff Act. This exemption is deemed necessary in the public interest.
