of <h1>India's 1986 Notification Cuts Customs Duty on Waste Wool Imports Over 20% Ad Valorem, Promoting Public Interest.</h1> The Central Government of India issued Notification No. 151/86-Cus on March 1, 1986, under the Customs Act, 1962, superseding a previous notification from 1976. This notification exempts imports of waste wool, including yarn waste and woollen rags classified under Chapter 51 or 63 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, from a portion of customs duties. The exemption applies to the extent that the customs duty exceeds 20 percent ad valorem, thereby reducing the duty burden on these imports in the interest of the public.
