Exercising powers under section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, the Central Government modifies the first proviso of Notification No. 204-Customs, dated 2nd August 1976. The amendment involves substituting the reference from the 'Development Wing of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry' to the 'Development Wing of the Ministry of Industry (Directorate General of Technical Development).' This change is enacted in the public interest.
