Amendment to 1979 Customs Notification: Importers Must Certify Use and Record-Keeping for Drug Manufacturing Goods or Pay Duty Difference.
Notification No. 279/86-Cus, dated April 28, 1986, amends a previous notification from March 6, 1979, under the Customs Act, 1962. It specifies conditions for the import of certain goods used in drug manufacturing. Importers must provide an undertaking that the goods will be used as specified, maintain records of receipt and consumption, and submit certified extracts of these records within three months. Failure to comply with these conditions will result in the importer paying the duty difference between the exempted amount and the standard duty at importation.
