of <h1>Govt Amends Service Tax Notification: Updates Exemptions for France, Norway; Adds Mexico, Norway, Egypt Entries</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 5/96-Service Tax, initially issued on April 3, 1996, under the authority of section 93 of the Finance Act, 1994. The amendment specifies that exemptions in the notification concerning serial No. 78 for France and serial No. 80 for Norway will apply to telephones in the Embassy Building and the Ambassador's residence. Additionally, serial No. 65 and its related entry have been removed from the schedule, and new entries for Mexico, Norway, and Egypt have been added as serial numbers 79, 80, and 81, respectively.
