<h1>Customs Notification 287/86 Amends Import Conditions for Survey Instrument Parts; Non-compliance May Trigger Duty Demand</h1> Notification No. 287/86-Cus., dated April 28, 1986, issued under the Customs Act, 1962, amends a previous notification from May 4, 1983. It stipulates conditions for importing component parts for geodetic and survey infrared distance measuring instruments. The importer must provide an undertaking to use the parts as specified, maintain records of receipt and consumption, and produce certified accounts within three months. Failure to comply with these conditions will result in a demand for payment of the duty difference between the exempted rate and the standard rate applicable at importation.
