of <h1>Customs Act Amendment Extends Duty Exemption for Trawler Components to September 1988 for Public Benefit</h1> The Central Government, under the Customs Act, 1962, has amended a previous notification (No. 247/84-Customs) to extend the exemption period for components used in the manufacture of trawlers. The original deadline of '30th September, 1986' has been revised to '30th day of September, 1988.' This amendment is made in the public interest to facilitate the continued exemption from customs duties for these components.
