of <h1>Government Exempts Key Components for Earth-Moving Machinery from Customs Duty Over 40% Until October 31, 1987</h1> The Central Government, under the Customs Act, 1962, exempts certain components for manufacturing power transmission systems for earth-moving machinery from customs duty exceeding 40% ad valorem. This exemption applies if the components are certified by designated officers from the Ministry of Industry as necessary for manufacturing these systems. Importers must provide a certificate confirming the components are part of an approved program by the Ministry of Industry. Additionally, importers must later certify that the components were used as intended. This notification remains effective until October 31, 1987.
