of <h1>India Issues New Customs Notification: Reduced Duty on Specific Copper Imports under Customs Act 1962</h1> The Central Government of India issued Notification No. 468/86-Cus on November 26, 1986, under the Customs Act, 1962, superseding a previous notification from 1982. This notification exempts certain copper goods from a portion of customs duty when imported into India. The specified goods include copper matte and master alloys, unwrought copper, copper waste and scrap, wrought bars, shapes, sections, wires, rods, plates, sheets, tubes, pipes, and other articles of copper. The exemption applies to the extent that the duty exceeds specified rates ranging from 60% to 95% as detailed in the notification's annexed table.
