of <h1>Customs Duty on Commercial Vehicle Components Doubled to 50%; Validity Extended to Dec 31, 1987, for Public Interest.</h1> The Central Government, under the authority of the Customs Act, 1962, has amended a previous notification concerning customs duties on components of commercial vehicles. The amendment increases the ad valorem duty rate from 25% to 50%. Additionally, the validity of the notification has been extended from December 31, 1986, to December 31, 1987. This change is deemed necessary in the public interest and modifies the earlier notification issued by the Ministry of Finance, Department of Revenue, dated January 16, 1985.
