<h1>India Exempts Certain Chapter 84/85 Goods from Customs Duties under Notification No. 2/87-Cus, Replacing Previous Notification</h1> The Central Government of India has issued Notification No. 2/87-Cus, dated January 1, 1987, under the Customs Act, 1962, exempting certain goods under Chapter 84 or 85 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, from specific customs duties. This supersedes the previous notification No. 447/86-Customs. The exemption applies to goods such as rice bran stabilizer and high pressure/bipolar electrolyser for hydrogen gas, provided they are imported by authorized individuals under the Solvent-Extracted Oil, De-oiled Meal and Edible Flour (Control) Order, 1967, for personal use. The applicable duty rates are listed in the annexed table.
