This exemption reduces the customs duty to 35% ad valorem and waives additional duties under certain conditions. These conditions include certification by a qualified government officer that the goods are necessary for semiconductor manufacturing and an undertaking by the importer to use the goods as specified. If the importer fails to comply, they must pay the difference between the exempted and standard duty.
