of <h1>India Exempts Mica from Customs Duty under Section 25(1) of Customs Act, 1962; Supersedes 1976 Notification</h1> The Central Government of India, under the authority of Section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, has issued Notification No. 129/87-Cus dated March 13, 1987. This notification exempts all varieties of mica, excluding scraps and waste, from customs duty when exported from India. This action supersedes the previous notification No. 329/76-Customs from August 2, 1976. The exemption applies to mica classified under heading No. 8 of the Second Schedule of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975, and is deemed necessary in the public interest.
