of <h1>India Grants Partial Customs Duty Exemption for Hot Briquetted Iron for Integrated Steel Plants Until March 31, 1988.</h1> The Central Government of India issued Notification No. 160/87-Cus on April 3, 1987, under the Customs Act, 1962, granting a partial customs duty exemption for hot briquetted iron (HBI) classified under Chapter 72 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. This exemption applies to HBI imported for use in integrated steel plants. The exemption reduces the customs duty to 15% ad valorem and waives the additional duty under Section 3 of the Customs Tariff Act. The notification is effective until March 31, 1988. Integrated steel plants are defined as facilities producing iron and steel from raw materials up to finished products.
