of <h1>Indian Government Grants Customs Duty Exemption for Telecom Project Materials Under Notification No. 184/87-Cus</h1> The Central Government of India has issued Notification No. 184/87-Cus, dated April 29, 1987, under the Customs Act, 1962, granting exemptions for components and raw materials classified under Heading No. 98.01. These materials, when imported for the manufacture of instruments and related equipment for the Public Telephone Exchange Network Project, are exempt from customs duty exceeding 35% ad valorem and from the entire additional duty under Section 3 of the Customs Tariff Act, 1975. The project is defined by a prior government notification dated February 17, 1986.
