of <h1>Government Amends Customs Notification to Introduce New Entry for Auxiliary Duties, Effective August 7, 1987</h1> The Central Government, invoking powers under the Customs Act, 1962, and the Finance Act, 1987, has issued an amendment to the earlier notification No. 207/87-Customs dated May 12, 1987. This amendment, effective from August 7, 1987, introduces a new entry, S. No. 298, into the schedule of the original notification. The amendment is deemed necessary in the public interest and pertains to the imposition of auxiliary duties as specified under notification No. 288/87-Cus.
