of <h1>New Exchange Rates for Stamp Duty and Customs: Notification No. 381/87-Cus. Supersedes Previous, Effective January 1, 1988</h1> Notification No. 381/87-Cus., dated December 28, 1987, issued by the Central Government, supersedes Notification No. 329/87-Cus. It prescribes exchange rates for foreign currencies against Indian currency for calculating stamp duty under the Indian Stamp Act, 1899, and for purposes under section 14 of the Customs Act, 1962. Effective from January 1, 1988, the notification provides a schedule listing various foreign currencies, such as Austrian Schillings, Australian Dollars, and U.S. Dollars, with their respective exchange rates equivalent to Rs. 100. The schedule specifies the conversion rates for 18 different foreign currencies.
