of <h1>Customs Notification Amended: Import Deadline for Defense and Security Extended to August 2001 Under Section 25(1)</h1> The Central Government has amended Notification No. 39/96-Customs, originally issued on July 23, 1996, concerning imports related to defense and internal security forces. Through Notification No. 103/2000-Cus dated July 19, 2000, the amendment extends the deadline specified in the original notification. Specifically, in the table associated with the notification, the date mentioned in the explanation for S. No. 15 is changed from 'August, 2000' to 'August, 2001.' This amendment is made under the authority of section 25(1) of the Customs Act, 1962, in the public interest.
